About Me
Karen is a Director and Writer originally from Vancouver, BC but now considers herself a filmmaking gypsy traveling to where the creative world takes her. Karen wrote a critically acclaimed episode of 'The X-Files' Event Season 2 entitled ‘Nothing Lasts Forever’. She developed her original series 'Parker's Fall' with ABC Signature Studios and worked with ColibriStudios on the supernatural series ‘Kin' a modern Reimagining of Hansel & Gretel’.
Karen has worked on some of the industry's most prestigious projects including HBO's critically acclaimed hit 'The Last of Us', the Emmy winning series 'Schmigadoon', the Emmy nominated series 'Maid', Netflix's widely anticipated adventure series 'Avatar: The Last Airbender', Disney's upcoming fantasy series 'The Spiderwick Chronicles' and the Emmy winning and global sensation 'The X-Files'.
Karen was selected as 1 of 7 writers across Canada to attend the Canadian Film Centre's Bell Media Prime Time TV Writer's Program with Executive Producer mentor Karen Walton (Orphan Black), original series mentors Lesley Grant (X-Company/Temple Street) and Sean Reycraft(Killjoys).
Also a director Karen's most recent short film, the thriller, Grace, which she wrote, directed and produced, appeared as a special feature on the Blu-Ray DVD release of 'The X-Files' Event Series 1. Before becoming a part of the X-Files family Karen directed noted X-Files Actor William B. Davis (Cigarette Smoking Man) in the short family film ‘A Pickle’ also starring Brenan Meyer of Netflix’s ‘The OA’.
